PAX-it collections can be set up on
any logical drive of your computer. Therefore, it is easy
to set up a collection of images, reports, presentations,
etc on your hard drive, on a removable medium such as a
Zip or Jaz cartridge, or on a mapped area of your fileserver.
Even if no network sharing is done, the server’s
space will usually be backed up on a regular, automated
schedule, giving that extra level of convenience and security.
Putting a PAX-it collection on a shared
area of your server can also open up the network sharing
of the databased images, reports, and presentations that
are stored there. If multiple camera workstations are in
place in your department, then all can store to the common
shared collection. In addition, network site licenses are
available to expand the functionality of PAX-it software
over your entire site’s network
clients.
PAX-it also has an inexpensive CD/DVD
Creator module that lets you easily copy or move case
folders to CD or DVD archives. This function can be used
as a backup tool or to move images offline to free up space.
