PAXcam CONNECT Telemicroscopy Module
Perfect for consulting with others who cannot be physically looking over your shoulder, due to clean room restrictions, differing locations, or other accessibility issues. Sharing remote telemicroscopy views in a live videoconference style connection is a cost-effective way to perform telepathology and other remote viewing and remote consultations in live mode.
No need to send parts overnight to another location for quality inspection, or to gown up to enter a restricted area, or to fly experts in for consultation, or to send slides by courier. Simply invite your colleague to view your remote CONNECT telemicroscopy session, call them on the phone, and you are immediately connected for a live voice and data consultation at the microscopic level! The PAXcam CONNECT telemicroscopy technology works for macrostand and gross imaging stations as well.
Now you can easily establish high resolution video streaming on your network or over the internet, to share meaningful camera views with your colleagues. Consultation and remote collaboration has never been easier.
The PAXcam CONNECT solution allows a PAXcam workstation to be used in videoconference mode to send the live preview from the camera to a client or multiple clients on the local area network (LAN), or on a wide area network (WAN) via the internet.
The PAXcam Telemicroscopy Module overcomes common drawbacks to other remote microscopy applications.
overcomes common drawbacks to other streaming applications:
Lag time is minimized between sender and client. Many applications claim "realtime" connections and may support multiple frames per second to the remote site, but there is an intrinsic delay, or lag, between when the stream is sent and when it is displayed. Meaningful consultation is not possible when sender and client views are not synchronized. The PAXcam CONNECT session measures lag in milliseconds, allowing sender and client to be in synch when moving through samples, changing magnifications, and discussing the case.
-
High Resolution telemicroscopy streams may be established with the PAXcam CONNECT module. This is not a webcam with grainy or postage-stamp sized windows, but a 800x600, 1280x1024, or larger window.
Flexibility is essential. Senders may adjust compression and frame rates to optimize the client's view. The size of the viewed window may be set by the sender or the client. PAXcam setups may include microscopy applications, macrostand views, gross imaging, or other configurations.
-
Realtime Communication Consultation tools are included. Pointers, boxes, and markers for regions may be shared and viewed by either the sender or the client.
-
Share still images also. After using the real-time telemicroscopy component to navigate a sample, and the shared markers to point out a region of interest, a high res still shot may be shared for an even more detailed view.
-
PAX-it's power is included. As an add-on module to PAX-it and PAXcam, the power of these applications is also available. Capture, archive, annotate and share high resolution still images in an efficient, user-friendly workflow. Stored images may be retrieved from the PAX-it collection to share in the CONNECT telemicroscopy conference as well, and captured images from CONNECT telemicroscopy sessions may be archived into the sender's or receiver's PAX-it case collection.
It is easy to accomplish. Clients do not need special hardware, only a free player that you provide for them. Connections are established in seconds, with just a few clicks of the mouse.
It is secure. Each session can be password protected to restrict viewers, and the sender knows who is connected at all times. Since discussions are over a separate line, there is no association of voice with data.
Options and upgrades are available. The PAXcam’s Live Measurement Module may be used to share measurements between sites on the live view, PAX-it’s Network Site License may be used to share whole collections of captured images, reports, and presentations, and more. PAXcam/PAX-it is your modular approach to communication with images.
Not a dedicated setup. PAXcam CONNECT is an add-on module to any USB2-based PAXcam. No need to purchase new, specialized hardware. Existing PAXcam setups may be upgraded to this powerful new set of features. The PAXcam CONNECT telemicroscopy workstation may also be used for standard micro or macro applications, and standard digital imaging.
