Fluorescence Imaging of Human Sperm
Image was taken with the PAXcam2+ digital microscope camera at half resolution, on an Olympus BX51 fluorescence microscope and a 20x objective. A special staining technique, coupled with the PAXcam & PAX-it, allow sperm to be easily seen and counted (see http://www.paxit.com/sperm_analysis.asp for more details). Sperm heads fluoresce green, while epithelial and other nuclei fluoresce blue. Images can then be stored in a PAX-it Image Analysis software database. |

The PAXcam line is a variety of C-mount digital cameras that can be used on microscopes and may be purchased with the appropriate microscope coupler, if needed. The PAXcam can also be outfitted with Cmount zoom lenses and macro lenses for digital imaging of large objects.
